Well, after much thinking and planning, we decided to order our Harley today! We drove out to the Harley dealership and were fortunate enough to meet some really neat people who had just purchased the bike shown here. (This is the one we've been sniffing the paint on for a couple of months!) They are Ivan and Teri Burgener from Republic (just west of Springfield). They were so gracious and offered to take Kurt and me for a ride. Needless to say we were thrilled! Now we can't wait to get ours. We have ordered one exactly like this one. We will get the next one that comes in. Unfortunately it probably won't be in until April - June of 2009. We were told that if someone who is ahead of us backs out, then we would have first chance at that bike. So there's a slim chance it could happen sooner.

JoJo loves to ride on the tractor while I mow, so I found this front carrying contraption so she could ride and frees up both my hands! She is totally relaxed and just sits there. What a funny little dog!
Kurt has just about finished the enclosure he made for our hot tub. He built a treated floor all around the tub so it looks like a wood deck. He topped it off by making a sign which he hung. In case you don't understand what "tals" are--that's Kurt's hillbilly way of spelling "towels."

On Sunday afternoon (October 26th) we made our annual trip to Frederickson's Pumpkin farm in Carl Junction (a small town just a few minutes west of Joplin). We've been doing this since the girls were little. It all began when Lauren was 3 years old. When Allison came along, the tradition continued and it since become the beginning of the "holiday season." The girls pick out a pumpkin and then Chris carves it for them. He has become quite good at it! In the following picture, we had just arrived and within a couple of minutes Lauren had found the "right" one.

I had to throw in these pictures. The one on the left was taken exactly a year ago. Pam and I were both looking forward to surgery (which we had the following March. What a difference a year makes!
