Strong Storm - May 8, 2009

We woke up to a very strong thunderstorm this morning. We had really strong winds along with quarter size hail. We were so surprised when we looked in the front yard after the storm had blown thru. One of the maple trees in our front yard (the second tree on the left side of our drive by the street) was totally laying on the ground. We were relieved that it didn't take down our pink dogwood that is shown at the top of the downed tree. We're so thankful it was spared. This tree appears to be the only damage we have. We lost power about 8 AM and at this writing (10:34 AM) we're still without power. The church still has power, so that's where I'm writing this.

In the picture below, Kurt was inspecting the damage. At first we thought the tree with the reflector on it was the one down.

God was so good to us! The damage could have been much worse.
Until later,
Shirley
