Yesterday Kurt and I worked most all day burning brush and stacking wood. Before we quit he decided he was going to tackle this tree that had been damaged in the ice storm in December. A large branch had broken from the top and was lodged in a tree across from it. It still was attached to the original tree, but we never knew when it might break loose and come crashing down.

Kurt rigged up the ladder, put on his climbing gear (remember he used to climb poles in the Air Force, grabbed his saws and up the ladder he went! You would never guess he was 80 years old from the way he scurries around.

His saw hung up on the branch he was cutting, so he had to come down and get another saw to cut that saw out--nothing's simple!

Success at last! The branch was on the ground!
